Get the Facts on Triad’s Zero-Rate Change Bond Proposal
Be sure to check your mailbox for the District’s Five Facts mailer! It’s important to get the facts about Triad’s zero-rate-change bond proposal that will improve our schools, including a NEW Triad Middle School.
Would you like to learn more about the upcoming bond proposal? You are invited to attend one of our informational meetings where you can ask questions and become more informed. These meetings will be held at various locations within the Triad District in the coming weeks. Many are scheduled prior to other district events within the same school for your convenience.
Our schools have important needs that must be addressed to provide the best learning environment for all students.
Here's a look at some key improvements in the plan:
Replacing the 65-year-old middle school
Updating career and tech classrooms and labs at Triad High School
Renovating and updating learning spaces at Marine Elementary
Constructing an auditorium at Triad High School for district and community use
Adding district-wide safety and security upgrades, as well as improvements to ensure compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)In the coming weeks, we’ll continue to share additional information about this critical plan to improve our schools. If you have any questions or would like more details, please visit our website at www.tcusd2.org/page/2025bond or feel free to contact me directly.

Madison County ROE Junior Olympiad:
Mr. Robert W. Werden, Regional Superintendent of School, and the Madison County ROE sponsored the 44th annual Junior Olympiad on March 11 at SIUE. The purpose of the Olympiad was to bring together middle school students from Madison County schools for an intensive one-day creative problem solving-competition.
Thirty-nine teams of four students each participated in the Junior Olympiad. Each team competed in a series of problems, which required higher level thinking skills. Team points were awarded for problem solving exercises in a variety of areas such as creativity, language arts, math, science and physics.
TMS had three teams and placed in the top half for the competition! Participants included: Conner Wuebbels, Blake Boeshans, Jennifer Bergmann, Brady Hueter, Devin Link, Khloe McBride, Kaitlyn Pokorny, Macey Powers, Audrey VanHoose, Marlie Wiemers, Masen Montegna, Carter Mallette
Social Studies:
Mrs. Loehr’s Social Studies classes acted out the play “Constitutional Convention”. The students had the option of dressing the part and really loved this activity.
Students also took time to honor three important groups of people in February. Presidents, African Americans, and Influential Women.
Sports/Extracurricular Activities:
Our 8th grade volleyball team has qualified for the IESA state tournament by winning the Triad Regional and the Edwardsville Lincoln Sectional. They are in the elite eight this upcoming weekend in Morton, Illinois.
We also have a bowler Austin Uhl, who has qualified as an individual for the state bowling tournament this upcoming weekend.
Also, in the past month, we’ve had three wrestlers who qualified for state, including Cole Pillard who finished fifth in his weight class. Mark Leahy and Jayden Rogers also qualified in sectionals to make it to state.
Our track season has begun. Practices are on our way with our first meets beginning on April 9 and 10th.
The next session of SOAR (Sixth Grade Only After-School Recreation) will be taking place starting at the end of March. The purpose of SOAR is to provide students with the opportunity to participate in a variety of recreational activities after the regular school day ends as an extension of the school’s physical education program. Participation in SOAR will not only give your child(ren) the chance to be active, it will also give them ample opportunities to make new friends and demonstrate such qualities as good sportsmanship, cooperation, and leadership in a supervised and structured environment.
