Educational programming for children ages birth to five years old.
Foundations for Success classes and programs are open to families with children under the age of 5 years who live in the Triad School District.
The Pre-K For All 3-5 program is funded annually by the state of Illinois as part of the Preschool for All Initiative. The program supports students district-wide, so our task is to enroll those three- and four-year-olds for whom we can make the biggest difference in terms of school readiness. To identify those children, we conduct play-based developmental and environmental screenings during the year at Henning Elementary. The Triad District holds Pre-K Screenings during the school year that are open to all children who live in the Triad School District. For more information regarding preschool screenings, or to schedule an appointment, please call 667-5401 and speak with Colleen Kremitzki or Katie Morby.
Pre-K For All classes meet 5 days a week, half day, from 8:40-11:10 AM OR 12:20-2:50 PM at Henning Elementary for all students. Drop-off times begin at 8:30 for AM classes and 12:10 for PM classes. Each classroom has a maximum of 20 students, 1 teacher, and an aide. Some students receiving special education services are blended into each Pre-K classroom as appropriate.
The Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE) classrooms are supported through state and federal funding in the Triad School District. Students enrolled in these classrooms are eligible for special education services through an Individual Education Plan (IEP) and require a smaller class size to get the most out of their classroom experiences. Speech, occupational, and physical therapies are provided as necessary and appropriate. Each classroom has a maximum of 10 students, at least 1 teacher, and 1 aide. Classes meet 5 days a week, from 8:40-11:10 AM OR 12:20-2:50 PM at Henning Elementary. Drop-off times begin at 8:30 for AM classes and 12:10 for PM classes.
Potential students who are interested in the Pre-K For All or Early Childhood Classrooms will need to attend a Pre-K screening session (which occurs 3 times a year, by appointment) before registration. Appointments can be made with CA Henning Elementary by contacting Colleen Kremitzki or Katie Morby at 667-5401.
The Triad Prenatal to 3 Program is a voluntary education and support program offered free to families residing in the Triad School District who are expecting a baby or have a child under the age of 3. Each stage of a child’s development is important and brings with it many opportunities for learning. Our program utilizes the Parents as Teachers curriculum, which helps guide parents through these stages and gives them the tools necessary to help children and parents be successful. Services provided include weekly home visits, group connections, developmental screenings, and connections to community resources.
Those families interested can contact Courtney Pritchett at 618-667-5401 or courtney.pritchett@tcusd2.org. Interested families can also complete the digital referral form https://forms.gle/RmKnrdioeSw9zwu1A, to be contacted by a program parent educator.
The Triad Staff/Tuition Preschool and Daycare program is designed around the needs of Triad staff members with children between the ages of 3 and 5 years old. There are currently two classrooms with a maximum enrollment of 20 students per classroom. However, when staff members do not fill all available classroom spots, the remaining spots (up to 20 students) are opened to the community. The Tuition Preschool classrooms are located at Silver Creek Elementary and St. Jacob Elementary. They are open 5 days a week, from 7:00 am to 4:00 pm. Daycare services with certified classroom aides are provided before and after the regular preschool hours of 8:50 am-3:00 pm. The Tuition Preschool classroom is aligned with the Triad School District calendar: Preschool class is in session when K-12 students are in school and closed on all school vacations and holidays. However, it is open for all full-day daycare on most days that Triad teachers report for work (Teacher Institutes, Parent-Teacher conferences, and School Improvement Days). Tuition is $650/mo for staff members and $325 is collected bimonthly each payday from September through May. For community members, the tuition is due on the 1st day of the workweek at the beginning of the current month. Non-staff reservations are taken year round but registration begins in April for the following school year.
