2025 Zero-Rate-Change Bond Proposal

The Triad School District Board of Education has placed a zero-rate-change ballot initiative on the April 1, 2025 ballot to address critical facility needs. The $99.2 million dollar proposal will fund the construction of a new middle school and necessary facility improvements in the district. The proposal will be structured so as not to change the tax rate.

The proposal includes replacing the 65-year-old middle school with a new building at its current site. It also features renovations and expansions for career and technical education spaces, classroom additions, and a new district auditorium at Triad High School. Marine Elementary School will benefit from updated and expanded learning spaces. The plan includes safety and security improvements district-wide, as well as improvements to ensure compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

Triad Together

Beginning in the fall of 2024, Triad Together was created to gather input from a broad base of parents, employees and residents of the Triad School District. The initiative was led by a team of parents, community members and school staff dedicated to working with Triad’s three communities—Troy, St. Jacob and Marine—to plan for the future of the district’s facilities. The team received its official charge from the Triad Board of Education.

In October 2024, Triad Together hosted a series of building tours and community engagement events. The tours, which focused on Triad Middle School, Triad High School and Marine Elementary, were conducted first and were followed by a presentation and workshop.

During these community engagement events, nearly 200 participants toured the schools and provided feedback on priorities and recommendations for improving Triad’s facilities. Participants shared their thoughts on:

The current condition of Triad Middle School, Triad High School and Marine Elementary

  • Facility needs that stood out

  • Prioritizing those needs

  • Ideas and suggestions from participants were collected during each building tour and community engagement event, providing valuable input for Triad Together’s final recommendations.

  • Data from these events was made available on the Triad Together website.

As part of its efforts to hear from the entire Triad school community, the Triad Together program also conducted an online survey in November 2024.
